Bio

Dharma Chari-Letts is an undergraduate at MIT pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Her interests lie at the intersection of mechanical engineering and hands-on fabrication, with a focus on developing practical solutions to environmental challenges. Through MIT’s D-Lab, Dharma worked on Sylica, a glass crusher designed to improve the processing and reuse of glass in the Indian Himalayas.

Dharma is passionate about hands-on making and bringing ideas from concept to reality. As a mentor at MIT’s Metropolis Makerspace, she helps students develop and fabricate projects while gaining experience with a variety of shop equipment. Outside of engineering, she enjoys combining technical and creative fabrication, including designing and making a dress for the MIT Gala.
