Chris Haynes was raised by a variety of creatures in the wilds of Central Maine. Eventually, he moved to a house with electricity and running water. From there, he went to study stop motion animation at the Rhode Island School of Design.

After spending several years animating puppets shilling products for television ads, he moved to woodworking and then teaching at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Answering a random online ad for shop assistants led him across the river, and to MIT.

He still enjoys lots of creatures like greyhounds and large fluffy cats. But not spiders.
