Caitlin Morris is a PhD student in the Fluid Interfaces group at the MIT Media Lab. The goal of her research and design practice is to explore the ways that multisensory systems support our social connections, emotional health, and learning, and to create platforms for learning based on research in embodied cognition and body-based sensory systems.

Her work often translates neuroscience and psychology research into an active design practice centered on learning experiences and social connection, building novel hardware and software tools as research probes. She advocates for a symbiotic loop between human-centered research, arts and design, and education; the interplay of these elements is a core component of her PhD research.

Caitlin has a professional background in museum design and building large-scale installation art; she has designed and taught workshops and courses for public access, libraries, high schools, and universities. Prior to joining the lab, she received a dual BS in Architectural Building Science and Psychology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design.
